Lingayats renew demand for separate religion

BANGALORE: The All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha president and senior Karnataka minister Shamnur Shivashankarappa is lobbying at the Centre to seek 'religious minority' status for Lingayats by seeking a separate identity from Hinduism. But there don't seem to be many takers for this
